KAP Samford Church

Gusty inland conditions made this very diffucult, plus close powerlines and a communication tower! Don’t try this at home.

KAP Australian Kitesurfing Nationals 2011

Kitesurfing nationals at Alva Beach an hour south of Townsville. Not much wind on the first day so plenty of time to get the KAP rig up. Most of the pics were terrible as I learned that height is not your friend with a GoPro. The wide angle means you can get some cool pics but only low down.

KAP Queens Beach

This is a regular kite surfing spot of mine. Unfortunately or fortunately if the wind is up i am kitesurfing so forget about taking photos! I have started using my GoPro camera on the kite now, the wide angle lense gives a different aspect on the world.  The think with GoPros is that everone ends up with photos or movie of their face as they look at the front to make sure the little red light is flashing and its shooting.

KAP Coolum Kids Day

This year for the Coolum Kite Festival, the organisers organised a mass kids flyday. This meant 800+ school kids desended on the beach with their kites they made and painted at achool. This would have been great if their was wind. They resorted to a mass ready steady go and run up the beach! This meant i was running too trying to dodge the little white kites in the air and the kids on the ground. Luckily the wind cam in very soon after starting.
